Mattress Size Chart for the UAE: Single to Super King in cm
There is no single legal standard for mattress sizes in the UAE. Retailers import from different markets, so the same name can mean different dimensions depending on where a mattress was designed. The reliable way to compare is to ignore the label and go by centimetres, which is what the chart below does.
The size chart
These are the sizes most commonly sold in the UAE. Exact dimensions can vary by a few centimetres between brands, so always confirm on the product page.
| Size name | Typical size (width x length, cm) | Usually suits |
| Single | 90 x 190 or 90 x 200 | One adult, children’s rooms, guest beds |
| Double | 120 x 200 | One adult who wants more room, or a compact bedroom |
| Queen | 150 x 200 or 160 x 200 | Couples in medium bedrooms |
| King | 180 x 200 | Couples who want extra space |
| Super King | 200 x 200 | Large master bedrooms |
If you are choosing for a child, the right size depends on age and growth. Our guide to children’s mattress sizes by age covers that in detail, and the kids mattress range shows what is available.
Why the names don’t always match
Size names change by country. In UK sizing, a “king” is about 150 x 200 cm and a “super king” is 180 x 200 cm. In the US, king and queen mattresses are larger and use inches. In many UAE listings, 180 x 200 cm is called king.
So if you are replacing a mattress you bought abroad, or following a size from an overseas guide, the name may not carry over. Use the width and length in cm as your reference. For a closer look at the most common confusion, read is 180×200 a king size.
Checking the fit before you order
A mattress has to fit more than the room.
- The frame: Bed frames are built around a stated mattress size, but the frame itself is larger than the mattress. Check the frame’s internal dimensions and its footprint, as explained in our post on bed frame dimensions vs mattress size.
- Bedding: Fitted sheets must match both the size and the mattress depth. If you are buying for a 180 x 200 bed, see the fitted sheet guide.
- The room: Leave enough walking space on at least two sides of the bed, and allow for bedside tables and wardrobe doors.
- Delivery: A rolled or boxed mattress is easy to carry, but the frame is not, so confirm it will pass your door and lift.

Frequently asked questions

The common sizes are single (about 90 x 190 or 200 cm), double (120 x 200), queen (150 or 160 x 200), king (180 x 200) and super king (200 x 200). Always check the exact dimensions on the listing.
What size is a king mattress in cm?
In most UAE listings, a king mattress is 180 x 200 cm. In UK sizing, 180 x 200 is called super king, so rely on the centimetres.
What is the difference between king and super king?
A super king is wider and, in the UAE, is often 200 x 200 cm, while a king is typically 180 x 200 cm. Super king needs a larger room.
Will a mattress from another country fit my bed frame?
Not necessarily. Sizes and names differ between countries, so compare width and length in cm with the frame’s internal dimensions.
